Administrative Secretary
Karla has been our secretary for over 20 years and she is the glue that keeps everything together. She creates our weekly bulletins, monthly newsletters, handles all phone calls, works with each committee, deacons, and session and a lot of miscellaneous work, pays the bills, etc. Our church is very fortunate to have Karla at work making sure the church runs smoothly!
Session
This group consists of ruling elders that are voted on by the congregation to nurture the life of the people of God through their gifts of discernment and governance. The session is accountable to their Presbytery. They watch over the congregation’s worship, the standards governing it, and the fruit it bears in the mission and ministry of the church.
Committees
Worship/ Nurture/Music Committee – Is responsible for the church’s worship and encouraging the people’s participation. They are responsible to make provision for the preaching of the Word and celebration of the Sacraments each week. They also determine dates and times for additional worship services as needed.
Stewardship Committee – This committee is responsible for the fiscal care of the church. They create budgets each year and make sure any expenses are records. They also provide financial reports to the Session each month.
Fellowship Committee – This committee oversees and creates fellowship time for our members of the congregation and the community. This could include dinners, special events, and even events to involve our congregation outside of church. There is always something in the works from this committee.
Buildings and Grounds Committee – There is a lot for this committee to do. They are responsible for the upkeep of the church with regular care and maintenance and also handle any issues that may arise in the church.
Personnel Committee – This committee oversees the employees of the church. There are yearly reviews, preparing required training for all and putting together the Terms of Call for the pastor each year.
Nominating Committee – This committee will form the nominations each year for session elders, deacons, PNC committee and any other committee that is needed. These nominations are approved by session and the congregation.
Mission Committee – The committee arranges financial support for missions that we care for throughout the year. Each year, they lend our support for whatever is needed in the community and in the world.
Deacons
This amazing group of people reach out to people in need – those that are home-bound, in hospitals, nursing homes, wherever they are. In cases of emergencies, they will attend to whatever needs might be needed. Some of the services they provide can include regular visits, partaking of communion with home-bound residents, making meals to send to those in need, providing whatever might be needed to make our members cared for. They also provide meals for funerals, any church events that need preparation of a meal.
